We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!

To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.

Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.

Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column below the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).

Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them

Hi Erika, thanks for allowing me to speak with Kaden. He is such a lovely boy with the most expressive eyes! There’s something very “safe” communicating with your dogs, considering my elementary level!

The first impression I get is that Kaden is young at heart (is he middle aged?) energetic, eager to explore and curious about everything. Yet he feels like an old, thoughtful soul.

His breathing is a bit heavy (I hope it isn’t my inference from the photo) and he has a medium bark. His fur is soft and warm to the touch. Not sure why he shows me fish fillets….does he have them? Does he have any stomach issues?

His aura appears yellow….possibly an indication of his cheerful, happy personality. He loves to run and jump. He was restless when he first came to you, but is now settled in and contented and comfortable. He is grateful that you considered his personality and looked after his needs. He feels his role is to be a companion and purpose to help you ground.

I hope some of this resonates with you. Thanks again and much love and blessings to both of you.

      Nita, you did great!
Kaden is about 12.5 years old and he has dementia. He’s a very old, sweet soul, but he loves to explore and play and he tries to keep up with the younger dogs when playing in the yard.

He does have a harder time breathing now, and his bark is probably medium– not too quiet but not scary, either. His fur is very soft and thick.

Funny you mention fish fillets! I recently bought them some salmon fillet treats because they’re a little softer (and he has jaw/teeth issues now), and they LOVE them. They also eat a salmon/sweet potato dog food because Kaden is allergic to chicken. The food actually says for sensitive skin and stomachs on the bag… You nailed that!

I am still unable to see aura colors, but yellow would make sense for him. He’s a sweet, friendly boy, and he loves to run and jump (but he’s getting stiffer in the back legs and is on medication for that).

I adopted him when he was about 2-3 years old. He was badly abused and dumped in the woods, so he was very anxious and scared of everyone when I first took him in. He had been at the rescue for months and no one wanted him. For some reason, I just knew he was supposed to be mine. I was going through a rough patch at that time, so he and I really bonded and saved each other. He’s 100% been a source of grounding for me, and I tell him he’s my best friend and my sunshine (which also supports the yellow color 🙂).

Nita, you should be proud– you did such a great job with Kaden and I am so happy my pups bring you a sense of security when you are practicing. Thanks for picking us! Xx

      Hi Erika,

Thanks for your very prompt and encouraging feedback, as always (not sure I totally deserve it!), and yes, like you, your kids do give me a great sense of security!

I too don’t actually see colors….the word just pops in! We scan the aura in pranic healing, but just to sense the energy, not really the color…though color is used for healing.

It’s great hearing about Kaden….how wonderful that you saved him. I can’t imagine how someone like him was left at the shelter and no one wanted him. Guess that’s because he was meant for you. He looks so happy!

I always connect a couple of times, since as you know, I don’t get too many inputs. So I try again….the first time I thought he was a young dog, but the second time it felt different.

Still disappointed with myself that I just have superficial conversations…have to work with Val on this. I hope at a later stage to come back to your kids again! After Brownie passed in 2021 it took me a year to join here…last year I lost Rani and found it hard to practice…thanks to your kids I started again. It’s difficult again after Khush, but he was the reason I discovered AC, so I’m very grateful to you and yours for helping me stay on track.

Much love and blessings to all of you.
